K-Pop, K-Drama, Samgyeopsal, Tteokbokki, Kimchi, Jeju and Nami Island, etc. You’ll all find these in one country, KOREA! My wife has been a fan of K-Drama for a few years now. As a result, with her influence, I’m now familiar to some K-Drama personalities and watched a few as well. Since we love to eat, we also tried to eat some Korean Food here in Dubai. We even found some Korean Stores in Karama and Al Barsha. All of these made us decide to go to Korea. In this post, I will share all the necessary information you need on how to apply for Korean Tourist visa in Dubai.

*** Additional documents may be required.
It’s easy to plan and manage a DIY (Do It Yourself) travel tour in South Korea as they have a massive train network and efficient transportation. Which is why all the tours on our itinerary are much cheaper compared to having your tours organized by an agency. Furthermore, you may consider to minimize the activities you will list on your itinerary that requires too much money. The consulate may look for bigger amount on your bank account if you have expensive activities. Also, I made a checklist which is very helpful in completing the requirements. Here is the link.
Most noteworthy, you can find the updated and complete requirements on the website of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai.
Submission of Requirements
Submit your complete requirements personally to the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai.
The easiest route for me will be via Metro and Taxi. Take the Dubai Metro Red line bound to UAE Exchange and off to Business bay Station. You can take a taxi from the opposite side of Sheik Zayed Road and it will only cost around 15-20 dhs. Most of the taxis are not familiar with the exact location of the Consulate, so you will have to advise the driver of the exact location as per the map showing above.
I suggest you to come at around 8:00-8:15AM. The consulate opens at 9:00AM but they allow people to wait inside around 8:30 AM. Please note that it is on first come first serve basis. Therefore, the earlier the better. Inside the Consulate, the security guard will ask you to get your ticket number. Wait for your ticket number to appear on the TV screen. Then, submit all your requirements for verification on window 2.
Make sure that your requirements are complete. Because if not, you’ll be advised to come back to complete your requirements. If complete, you will be asked to sign the log sheet and pay the visa fee (FREE for Philippine Passport Holder). Then, a receipt will be provided which you will present upon collection of your Visa. The application is from 9:00 – 12:00 noon only but if you are still not called and it is already past 12:00 noon, don’t worry, you’ll still be accommodated as long as you already got the ticket number.
Passport and Visa Collection
On the receipt you received when you submit your requirements, the date and time for passport/visa collection is stated. It is usually 4 business days from the day you submitted your complete requirements. You can only collect it between 3:00 – 4:00 PM. Get a ticket number again for visa collection. Once your number appeared on the TV screen, go to window 2 and handover your receipt. Finally, you will receive your passport and you will be asked to sign the log sheet again.
In my opinion, the Visa Application for Korea seems to be easier compared to getting visa from other countries like US, Canada or Europe (Schengen Visa). As long as your requirements are complete, there is a big chance that you’ll get your visa approved.
God Bless on your visa application and enjoy South Korea.
