Venice is a city filled with tourist attractions and it's hard to know where to begin. But for me, one day is enough to tour around the city. What is the perfect way to spend a day in Venice? Its a good thing we were on a group tour via Expat Explore. It is easier since we have everything we need to know. Venice was a dream destination of my wife but it did not met her expectations. But then, there are places in Venice that we love.
Anybody who has been to Venice will tell you that the vision of Gondolas sliding down calm waters and gondoliers serenading passengers with songs is but a myth to lure naive tourists. Reality is very different – thousands of tourists crowding Rialto Bridge, roses being peddled to unsuspecting couples at the bridge, milling crowds at San Marco square trying to get a photo with the pigeons and insistent vendors hounding tourists. 🙁
When in Venice
As part of the tour, we experienced different activities around Venice. One of them is the performance of an expert glass Master, modelling glass with blowing and sculpture techniques forming the famous Murano Glass. It was one great experience you shouldn't miss.
Venice is expensive and so is their food. The good thing, it is worth the price. You just need to find the perfect restaurant for your tastebuds. Luckily, our Tour Leader Kevin gave us a tip where to eat the real Venetian cuisine. We had our dinner at Rossopomodoro. If you want to try authentic Italian pizza then this is where you should go. The servings are huge, maybe because it was normal for European. 😀 I strongly recommend this restaurant when you're in Venice and its near Piazza San Marco. We went back to the hotel from the main island of Venice via Water taxi.

Venice is an archipelago of 117 islands interconnected by bridges. Get lost around the city. Soon you’ll find yourself wondering what more there is to see just around the corner. You’ll be tempted to devote the entire day finding out. It will be a day well spent.
Venice is a remarkable city, beautiful, bustling and with so much to see and to do all that, it is difficult to fit it all in.
